I’d say trust is the number one factor when allowing workers to come on your property. We have a section on our website here that lets or clients tell about their experiences with us. We are not a big company so you don’t have to worry about crews coming out that we just hired the day before. We are small and easy to get in contact with. As Fall rolls in the leaves are slowly dropping. Many people mulch the leaves up with their mowers, including me. This could be a safety hazard on lawns that are new to you. Lawns we mow all season we get familiar with all the stumps and holes, etc. Leaves can cover stumps and holes which can lead to mower damage and possible injury. So take it a bit slower on leaf cleanup with mowers.

Mulch up leaves… they hurt your lawn if too many of them just stay there.
Keep gutters cleaned out.
Put out rye grass which grows in cold weather. It helps keep lawn healthy while other grass types go dormant.
Trim low hanging and unhealthy tree limbs.
Trim hedges.
Put out pinestraw after leaves have all fallen.
Pressure wash house before putting up Christmas decorations.
Aerate the lawn.
De-thatch the lawn.
Do a soil test to see what your lawn needs to be healthier.
Sharpen lawn mower blades.
Winterize mower gas.
Treat your lawn to prevent fire ants in late Febuary or early March.

A couple tips on leaves. Use a tarp to move large piles of them. Try doing this with the help of your mower also. Wait until all the leaves fall before putting new pinestraw on beds. This way leaves don’t fall on top of the nice pinestraw. And you do not have to remove the leaves from the beds. They will decompose under the straw.

Now is the time to conserve water,,,,, when it is plentiful. If we wait until droughts like 2007 then it is too late. Heavy rains fill water barrels. Scarce rains do not. I know many people are hurting from the floods and that is terrible. For those who are just inconvenienced, let’s not complain. In 2007
